will you do my portrait session somewhere other than your farm?

For the right price-not for the advertised one. I mainly do portrait sessions on site at Redemption Square Farm to make things work best for our family. Contact me if you have special needs that you’d like to discuss, and we will see if we can work something out.

Tell me more about your farm…

Redemption Square Farm is a real working farm. That means we have lots of animals, poop, and personality. Depending on the season, we have bugs or mud. Know that’s part of the deal. If you hate any of the above, we may not be your ideal photoshoot location.

What if i am terrified of animals?

Most animals can be secured behind fencing. Some animals, like chickens and guineas, free range and think they own the place. Because they provide my family with free eggs, they pretty much do. I can always try to distract them with feed during our shoot to keep them at a distance, but it’s not a 100 percent animal free zone no matter what we do. I only allow nice animals to be where people are.

what kind of investment am i looking at?

I emphasize quality not quantity with my shoots. While I guarantee a certain number of shots with every shoot, I am aiming for good quality images that will stand the test of time. Life moves fast, and I want you to be able to treasure these moments forever.

when do you take photos?

For outdoor portraits, sunrises and sunsets are your best friends. When the light is nice and even, it is the most flattering for portrait sessions. That’s when I am going to encourage you to do it. I am a natural light photographer, so we have to work with the sun for your best images. For newborn portrait sessions, we can be more flexible. I still use natural light but we shoot indoors in my home, and we built our house to maximize natural light throughout the day,

Depending on the portrait package you choose, sessions usually last an hour or less. For newborn portraits, the session is two hours or less. For family sessions with small children, I can usually work fast and get the images you want within 30 minutes. I understand that long portrait sessions are not always desirable for young families.

I do offer mini sessions seasonally to try to bless others with shorter sessions that are more affordable. We may have to reschedule if we get rained out. It’s South Mississippi, and the weather doesn’t always play nicely.

can i bring props with me?

Absolutely! I want your photos to be ones you treasure. The disclaimer is that this is a real working farm. The possibility of something being damaged is always on the table, but we will do what we can to keep your things safe.

what kind of animals are on your farm?

EVERYTHING. No, seriously, almost. We have goats, pigs, sheep, ducks, chickens, guineas, turkeys, rabbits, dogs, and a cat. It seems like something is often giving birth or about to, so we have the cutest little props on the Coast. Ask, and I’ll let you know if we can add living props to your shoot.

what happens after my session?

I’ll likely send you a sneak preview within a week of taking your photos. I am usually overly eager to share after a session. When I have edited your photos, I’ll give you another preview through my blog. Within, a month, I’ll upload your professionally edited photos to your own gallery online that you can access to download and order for your own personal use. My online gallery makes sharing on social media easy- just link back to me, so your friends can find me too. All of my clients have access to my professional print lab for great deals on beautiful products.
